Planning AHEAD Study

  • Principal Investigator: Dr. David Kealy
  • Research Assistants: Zarina Giannone, Megumi Iyar, and Sharon Ahn

Thinking about our futures can help us feel more prepared and satisfied with our lives. Our research team is interested in learning if our group sessions can positively influence your outlook and perception of future possibilities.

Who Can Participate?

We are currently recruiting participants for our Planning AHEAD study. Planning AHEAD focuses on uncovering how young adults can better prepare for their futures, fostering more purposeful and meaningful lives. Participants must be: (a) between the ages of 18-25, and (b) English-speaking.

What’s Involved?

Participants in the study will participate in 4 group sessions with two experienced facilitators. Each group will be 1.5 hours long and sessions will occur once a week for 4 consecutive weeks. Participants will be invited to engage and share their hopes and aspirations for the future. They will be asked to complete research questionnaires both prior to the first group session (week one), as well as after the last group session (week four).

What’s In It For Me?

Participants will be compensated for their time and effort. They will receive a $100 honorarium for participating in all aspects of the study.  Additionally, participants will gain significant knowledge and skills, while contributing to the advancement of research. Similar group sessions are often quite costly and Planning AHEAD affords the opportunity to get paid while learning about yourself!
